Seeking a DUI Adjournment in Sutherland Court
Josh Boorman here I have just got out of Sutherland Local Court where I have gone in today to adjourn a matter for a client. Now I appeared before the Court Registrar who is basically an a Court Administrative Officer who does a lot of case management.
Basically the purpose for adjourning the matter was so that my client could take part in and complete a Traffic Offender Program, now this goes for about 6 weeks, so we were able to adjourn his matter until the middle of August (about 8 weeks away).
Importance of DUI Adjournment
It is very important that we are able to obtain these types of adjournments so that we are able to put in place a well prepared case before our client goes to the final Court hearing.
This will only increase their chances of getting a better result and mitigating their situation and really showing the Magistrate that the offender has taken steps to re-educate themselves and rehabilitate themselves in relation to driver safety.
So today we were able to successfully get that adjournment and it will give us enough time to prepare the case before the final hearing.
