A man who had been precluded from driving until 2023 is to face court on Sunday after purportedly being caught drink-driving.

Police said they ceased a Holden in Cowper St, Glebe, on Friday evening and breath-tested the 59-year-old driver.

He presumably returned a positively reading.

“Checks on the man’s licence disclosed he was disqualified from driving until 2023,” police said in a statement.

“He was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station, where he underwent a breath analysis that presumably returned a reading of 0.112.”

The man was charged and refused bail to appear prior to Parramatta Bail Court.
